Futures and Options trading is frequently marketed on greed. Infomercials stress how you can get rich quick trading commodities. Trading gurus tell how you can pluck millions out of the market. Remember that risk is typically proportionate to reward. If your objective is to get rich quick you have two choices: 1) You can utilize a high risk trading approach (buying cheap out-of-the-money options is still high risk) or 2) you can buy a lottery ticket every week. We believe both approaches are doomed to fail. We don't try to get rich quick. Instead, armed with a realistic understanding that substantial risk of total loss is always present, our investment objective is to realize a 20-30% annualized return.
