For Premium Service accounts, IFG has an account minimum of $5,000 (A $10,000 minimum is highly recommended). This high minimum seems odd in an industry where some claim you can make a fortune on a $1000 investment. Our rationale is simple. We want to work with investors who give themselves the greatest chance of success through proper capitalization. We believe that higher account minimums give our customers a greater chance at success. Why? Because we believe that losses are an intergral part of trading. Not only must an investor be able to weather numerous consecutive losses, but he/she must emerge from the storm with sufficient funds to be an active market participant when profitable moves occur. Our objective is a lifelong investment relationship. By establishing high account minimums we seek to serve the best interest of our clientele, and lay a solid foundation for years to come.
